The Remington 770 was a smart and awesome replacement for the 710. Perhaps you go on the occasional hunting trip, or perhaps you only shoot leisurely in your spare time. Whatever the reason, the Remington 770 is a fun and less expensive rifle to keep in your arsenal.
If you want to improve on this great firearm, without breaking the bank, read through our review of the best Remington 770 accessories. We’ve included four completely different options that should satisfy both hunting and tactical shooters. Although we can’t necessarily compare these items, we’ll let you know which option we think is the most practical buy that a gunowner can’t go wrong on. Happy shopping!
Materials – The Ultimate Arms Gear Tactical Shell Cartridges makes for great Remington 770 accessories. These shot shell carriers are made of a special Endura material in an all black color. The special material is expandable enough to slip over your rifle’s stock, but durable enough to last through a lot of heavy use without tearing or sliding around. There are 18 elastic slots available to store additional ammo during your hunting trips or tactical use – nine on each side. There is enough space left open between this accessory and the shooter’s shoulder to avoid any interference with positioning and firing shots, and your next round is essentially at your finger tips! The Ultimate Arms Gear Tactical Shell Cartridge is only six inches long, and it won’t add too much bulk to the end of your rifle.
Performance – The Ultimate Arms Gear Tactical Stealth Black Rifle Ammo Shot Shell Cartridge (ugh, that’s a mouthful) is great accessory for your Remington 770 tactical and hunting purposes. What can beat the convenience of your shells being at the ready for loading? We really like the performance of the material used for this ammo carrier, as it stretches enough for us to slide it onto our Remington, but it really doesn’t budge once it’s in place. The elastic slots for the ammo keeps everything in place without letting shells slide around or fall out. Our one complaint: in order to get it on your Remington 770 stock, you’ll have to remove the barrel because it won’t slide on from the back end. The solution? This is a one time modification you have to make, so just slide that baby on the next time you’re doing a thorough cleaning of your firearm.
What we say – The Ultimate Arms Gear Tactical Shell Cartridge is only about $10 online, making this a fantastically cheap Remington 770 upgrade to enhance convenience. Great for both hunting and tactical purposes alike, you have no reason to pass this product up.

Materials – The Blackhawk! Black Shotgun Sling is a Remington accessory made of high quality, elastic nylon webbing in an all black color. The sling has a full adjustable strap, so any sized person can sling their Remington over their shoulder and tighten the strap as needed for a secure fit. The wearer may also use the sling to wear their rifle across their back. On the sling are 15 elastic slot for additional ammo shells. On each end of the sling are two durable steel hooks which attach to any standard sling swivels on your rifle. The back of the sling (the side which rests against the body) is constructed of a non-slip, gripping material, so your rifle won’t go sliding up and down against your shoulder.
Performance – The Blackhawk! Black Shotgun Sling is one of the most basic and standard Rem 770 accessories that you can purchase. If this whole article was devoted to just rifle slings, then we’d expand and find slings with some more unique features, but this Blackhawk! product is a great example of high quality for a fairly common product. We love Blackhawk! products, so we can confidently suggest their Remington sling as a smart purchase to make. This shotgun sling is also great for both hunting and tactical purposes, but we think every hunter should definitely own a standard rifle sling with slots for additional ammo. The only other additional part you’ll have to buy is the sling swivels, if you don’t already own some.
What we say – The Blackhawk! Black Shotgun Sling costs about $20 online, which is another steal for a solid and important accessory for your Remington 770. You likely won’t have to invest in a shotgun sling again, so this is an easy twenty bucks to spend.
- Low cost
- 15 additional shell slots
- Adjustable and has non-slip surface
- Sling swivels sold separately
- Attaches to standard sling swivels with durable steel spring hooks
- Fully adjustable shotgun sling in black
- Constructed of high-quality, elastic Nylon webbing
Materials – The Remington Cellular Polyurethane Recoil Pad is a small, black piece made of, you guessed it, cellular polyurethane. Cellular polyurethane is a material designed to absorb intense recoil through a series of millions of “super cells” within the pad. Instead of feeling a hard punch into your shoulder, you should feel something more like a soft nudge every time you take a shot with your Remington 770. It’s very lightweight, adding only just a couple of ounces to the stock of your rifle, and the shipped product does include screws for installing it. You’ll be able to increase your time spent hunting and less time icing that shoulder!
Performance – We didn’t want to go wrong on the sizing, so we stuck with the Remington brand on this one for your Remington 770 accessory. This cellular polyurethane recoil pad is an extra spongy piece that does a great job at shock absorption. We like this style, as opposed to a sleeve you would slip onto the butt of your stock, because it won’t budge or slide around after installing. However, the one problem with that is this recoil pad is exposed to the elements, and it will probably wear out after some time. Thankfully, it’s cheap enough that having to replace it every year or two is no big deal. The Remington Recoil Pad is also a thoughtful accessory to add to your rifle for anyone in your family that may be new to shooting. Whether it’s your nephew, cousin, wife, or whoever else, they’ll be thanking you for saving their shoulder!
What we say – The Remington Recoil Pad is another tactical and hunting accessory that costs only $20 online. Again, this is cheap enough to replace and is worth looking into for any other rifle or shotguns you may own.
- Low cost
- Special super cells for absorbing shock
- Easy to install
- Will need to be replaced over time
- Fits Remington 7, 700, 710, 770 with synthetic stocks (1997 or newer)
- Millions of SuperCells help cut the recoil
- Rearward force of your gun is reduced from a kick to a gentle push
Materials – Ah – a more advanced Remington 770 accessory! The Simmons 511039 Riflescope is one of the best scopes you can install on your rifle, especially for hunting. It has a simple tube construction in a matte black finish. The magnification range is 3x to 9x with a 32 mm objective lens. The objective lens is protected by a HydroShield lens coating, which ensures a clear and bright picture during most times of the day. There is a parallax correction preset, which begins at 50 yards and on to infinity. The adjustment knobs for windage and elevation have special SureGrip rubber surfaces to prevent fingers from slipping, and the shooter can focus on acquiring their target.
Performance – Yes, we had to include a scope for our Remington 770 accessories review! Simmons puts out some very classic style scopes that always gain great feedback, and the company gets our stamp of approval too. The 511039 Riflescope has the perfect medium magnification range all hunters desire, and the optical lenses are coated to handle all of the elements that come with the sport. Now, this particular scope, as much as we like it, isn’t exactly designed for the Remington 770, so you’ll have to make sure you buy the proper scope rings and ensure it has been properly installed on a mount. That being said, this is a low cost scope that should cover your basic hunting needs.
What we say – The Simmons 511039 Riflescope costs about $40 online, so basically anyone can afford this Remington 770 upgrade. While it’s a pretty standard scope, it’s ideal for hunting and for anyone who just wants to have fun with their Remington.
- 3x-9x magnification
- Rubber surfaces on adjustment knobs
- Will need to modify so it fits with 770
- High-quality fully-coated optical glass lenses
- Parallax correction preset from 50 yards to infinity
- Rimfire 3/8" dovetail mounting rings included
