You may have never heard of the Ruger 9e. It’s a very conventional pistol. However, it’s often overshadowed by its SR series counterparts. Finding the correct accessories for this model might be complicated. Therefore, we’ve collected a list of the top Ruger 9e accessories on the market.
The Ruger 9e has a few wonderful attributes that we believe are underappreciated. The grip has a reverse backstrap that enables the user to choose between a curved and a flat grip. The front sight is built with an angled edge to aid in drawing from a holster. This means the front sight will not snag on anything or damage the lining of a holster.

TALON Grips For Ruger
Materials — Where the Ruger 9e falls short is in the grip’s side panels, which aren’t particularly textured, and it may benefit from an update with lasers or night sights. The TALON wraparound grips are a patented design. The highly textured grip sticks to your firearm and remains in place during all types of usage. From drawing to firing, your grip will not wear out or become unadhered to the pistol. This product is available in black granulated or rubber texture, as well as moss green rubber grip. They’re barely half a millimeter thick, so they won’t make your palm swell or modify your gripping technique.
Performance — The TALON Grips are ideal for the Ruger 9e handgun because it lacks a well-textured grip panel. Because it’s rather smooth and flat, many people may find their hands slipping when shooting. Ruger does have a changeable rear panel, which we didn’t want to obstruct by adding a rubber grip that slides over the existing grip. That is why this TALON option is ideal for anybody looking to enhance their gun interface. Because these wraps are rather permanent, be sure you like them before you put them on.
What we say — This is the ideal option for someone who dislikes the Ruger 9e’s flat, smoother grip surface yet wants to use the changeable rear panel.
- Affordable price
- Adds highly textured grip to the firearm
- Doesn’t increase palm swell
- Difficult to remove adhesive once it’s on

Crimson Trace Rail Master Universal Mount Laser
Materials — You can’t go wrong with a Crimson Trace laser for your handgun. This ergonomically shaped and lightweight laser has been meticulously crafted for all handguns with a rail beneath the barrel. Instead of installing over the existing trigger guard and adding weight, it takes up as little area as feasible. This is a Class III R red laser beam, which means it is one of the most powerful lasers accessible for civilian usage. It will be most visible at night, but it will still operate throughout the day. Simply touch your finger on the ambidextrous instinctive activation switch to turn on the laser.
Performance — Why not make advantage of the attachment rail on your Ruger 9e pistol? Because of its modest and compact design, the Crimson Trace laser may still be accompanied by a variety of holsters. It’s exceptionally lightweight and much simpler to install since it doesn’t need any additional pieces to cover the trigger guard. Because the laser beam is so strong, Crimson Trace’s laser is a bit more costly than others on the market. It may seem stupid, but you’ll want to be cautious and ensure that it’s correctly fitted to avoid losing this little guy.
What we say — The Crimson Trace red laser is the ideal option for someone with a little more cash who wants to use their accessory rail. This is a considerably superior solution than lasers that are installed over the original trigger guard.
- Installs on accessory rail instead of trigger guard
- Most powerful laser for civilian use
- Can be used day or night
- Very small and can be easy to lose

Streamlight TLR-4 Tac Light with Laser
Materials –If a laser isn’t enough for you, consider Streamlight’s TLR-4 flashlight and laser combination. This alternative also mounts to your Ruger 9e’s existing rail beneath the barrel. For a steady on mode or a pulsing, temporary mode, use the ambidextrous on/off switch. Simply attach it onto the rail and tighten the single screw into position.
You may also choose between three light modes: laser alone, illumination only, or combined laser and illumination. Because the mounting mechanism is so adaptable, you should be able to remove it and put it on any other pistol with an accessory rail you possess!
Performance — For tactical or self-defense reasons, a flashlight and laser combo may be highly beneficial to attach to your weapon. Why not make the most of that accessory rail? Streamlight manufactures some of the best quality lights and light/laser combinations available.
Unfortunately, an attachment like this is less likely to be compatible with a holster, so bear that in mind. Because the flashlight part protrudes from the barrel, you’ll want to avoid hitting it against anything.
What we say — The Tac Light with Laser from Streamlight is the perfect option for anybody looking for a tactical light or when a laser alone isn’t enough.
- Easy to install or switch between pistols
- Multiple settings
- Ambidextrous switch
- Difficult to find an accommodating holster
Trijicon Ruger HD Night Sight Set
Materials — After much searching, it’s confirmed that almost any 1911 Novak cut sights can be near-drop-ins for the Ruger 9e. The Trijicon HD Night Sights is a pair of front and rear sights to replace the original, three dot sights on your pistol. There are three tritium inserts included: two in the rear and one in the front. They glow a bright green, which is visible during both daylight and night time.
The front tritium insert is surrounded by a neon yellow ring of photo luminescent paint for a highly contrasting dot that will improve your accuracy. The rear mimics your Ruger’s original rear sight notch shape. The front sight is also designed with a slight angle to maintain Ruger’s original capability of gliding in and out of holsters.
Performance — We suggest professional installation from a gunsmith regarding night sights. What we like most from Trijicon is that they maintained the angled shape of the front sight, exactly like the original front sight on the Ruger 9e.
This way, you’re not taking away any of the thoughtful features Ruger designed, and you’re only improving the overall function of the weapon. With bright green tritium and neon yellow dot, you’ll hit your target every time.
What we say — The Trijicon Ruger Night Sights are the best choice for anyone who may not be interested in a laser and would prefer to acquire their target with a pair of sights that won’t interfere with a holster.
- Bright green tritium inserts
- Maintains shape of original Ruger sights
- Highly visible during any time of day
- Needs professional installation
Our Favorite Ruger 9e Accessory
After much consideration, we concluded that our favorite accessory for the Ruger 9e was the Crimson Trace Rail Master Universal Mount Laser. Although we also included the flashlight and laser combo from Streamlight, Crimson Trace’s red laser beam is far more powerful, and it’s one of the most powerful overall on the market.
It also features a compact and lightweight design, so you’ll barely notice the added accessory on your pistol. How about you? What are your favorite Ruger 9e accessories on our list? Let us know in the comments below.
The sights mentioned above fit on the ruger but the rear sight from Trijicon is over an 8th inch higher and will have you shooting 24 inches high at 25 feet. This particular mod is NOT COMPATIBLE with Ruger 9E. The sad reality for those of us with this gun is that there is no tritium sight on the market that is will work. It took me over $200.00 to confirm this based on recommendations like this one. Being able to attach the sight to the gun does not mean it will shoot straight.
I love the Crimson Trace 206 for my 9E, unfortunately it only lasted 1 1/2 years and died and Crimson Trace has ignored 2 attempts to have them address it in their customer support on their website, I hope you have more luck, it is a great product for the limited choices available for my 9E.
