Reasons to Choose the Taurus G2c

Taurus G2C Magazines G2c Upclose

The Taurus G2c is the gun to get if you’re searching for a compact CCW pistol that’s not too expensive. Taurus introduced the gun in 2013 and people adore the Millennium G2c because of its size. In addition, the goal of this gun’s design is to offer a low-cost backup pistol for concealed carriers and law enforcement personnel who are looking to carry off-duty. The G2c gun is 9mm and .40 S&W chambered and became a pleasure. It’s about the same size as a Glock 26, but it can hold two extra rounds.

Even though I had my own collection of high-end firearms, the G2c will always be one of my favorites. This gun offers much more functionality than you’d think.

Aside from being light and affordable, there are a few more features of this gun that you will enjoy. First, the Taurus G2c handgun has a large 12+1 capacity and is extremely reliable. You have the option of reversing the magazine catch. Second, there’s a Picatinny rail for mounting an attachment. Furthermore, the back sights are likewise adjustable yet the front sight is not. Finally, the grip features textured panels on the front, back, and sides. As a result, the grip is tacky and feels great in the hand. Nonetheless, it ties itself nicely to gun precision and control. In terms of ergonomics, the Taurus G2c is a dream to hold. The texture is fantastic, and the angle is just right.

Taking the gun in range, it’s accurate enough for its intended use. I’ve shot some very expensive weapons that couldn’t compete. This gun has never let me down in terms of accuracy or reliability. Here’s a video of the Taurus G2c shooting 100 bullets. You’ll notice that it’s fairly functional and reliable when fired two-handed.

What Magazine Should You Get?

The G2c is a handgun that allows users to store and fire more rounds due to its 12+1 capacity. You may be asking yourself what is the best magazine to get for your Taurus G2c? The pistol accepts a 9mm round magazine. However, when it comes to size, it depends on how many rounds you think are appropriate for your shooting demands.

The G2c pistol comes with two magazines right out of the box, which is fantastic. As a result, you need to add a few extra magazines to your collection. Keep in mind that the size of magazines built for the G2c is way smaller. Most users are good with the standard 10- or 12-round capacity. But this may not be enough for some, especially those who purposely use the gun for target or competitive shooting. This is when the extended magazines come in handy. Extended magazines hold more rounds and can hold 15 rounds. It will surely outlast a 10-round magazine. However, we’ll cover the extended magazines in another article.

When selecting Taurus G2c magazine, factory magazines are always on top of the list. Because these magazines are built for a certain model, they are typically a safe bet. As a result, you will not have fitment issues, unlike what can occur with aftermarket ones. Many G2c users claimed compatibility issues and jams using Mec Gar Magazines. Mec Gar has now put out a statement noting that their magazines will not fit any Taurus G2 pistols. Therefore, we’ll remove it from the list.

I’ve only used original equipment manufacturer (OEM) magazines from Glock and SIG Sauer for my pistols, and they never failed me. However, there are also quality aftermarket options if you’re trying to save some buck.

With that in mind, let’s look at the key features to look for when selecting the best Taurus G2c magazines.

Buyer’s Guide for the Best Taurus G2c Magazines

When it comes to magazines, they don’t always appear to be a necessary piece of the puzzle. Therefore, most individuals only buy a handful to keep on hand. Yet purchasing a magazine is as crucial as purchasing a gun. Additionally, the right magazine for your Taurus G2c will boost the gun’s reliability and ease of usage. There are also a few things to consider like there are other accessories. It’s crucial to remember what makes a decent magazine. Here are a few things to consider while looking for one.

Materials

The quality of your magazine might have an impact on the gun’s durability and reliability. For instance, steel and polymer magazines should be on your top magazines’ list. These are durable materials that can withstand a wide range of impacts and effects. One of its best features is that they don’t crack when they’re let to slide freely across a hard floor.

Finish

Choose a magazine with a corrosion-resistant coating like Cerakote finish. If your magazine contains metal components, it must have high-quality anodizing. Polymer magazines are also a good option as they are already corrosion-resistant.

Texture

Check to see if your magazine has good texture on the exterior. The texture should make a difference in holding the magazine in your hands. Check whether the magazine is nonslip so that you can still use it even in wet conditions. In addition, aftermarket magazines typically have better grip texturing than their OEM counterparts.

Handling

Consider how easy it is to eject a magazine when making your selection. It should mean that you don’t have to pull the magazine out with your hand. The magazine should also slip out itself. This also frees up your hand so you may reload a new magazine while withdrawing the old one.

Spring and Anti Tilt Follower

The magazine must have a solid spring and an antitilt follower to ensure a constant feed. Antitilt technology is now found in high-quality magazines. It guarantees that the handgun feeds without jamming. The follower should also be made of either polymer or aluminum. The spring should be made out of metal or stainless steel. They must both be of the finest quality and should not break over time after prolonged use.

Price

If you are a savvy shopper, the cost may be something to consider. When you’re on a budget, you should not sacrifice quality to cut costs. If anything, considering the greatest price within the budget scale should be enough.

This Taurus G2c Magazine is a factory replacement magazine. This magazine is excellent whether you need a replacement or perhaps extra mags. These 12-round magazines are built to match the same quality standards as your OEMs. With sturdy steel structure, ultra-reliable steel internal springs, and impact-resistant polymer baseplates. The Taurus Mag will not disappoint you.

Moreover, extended polymer baseplates on these 12-round magazines provide you a better grip and it gives you control for more precise firing and faster follow-up rounds. These mags not only fit G2c but the PT-111 and Millennium Pro G2 as well. However, the mag will not fit the G2s since the grip is thinner, and the mag is far too wide to fit, so don’t ever try.

Overall, if you’re looking for a low-cost mag that will work with your G2c, the Taurus G2c 12-Round Mag is a great option. Its high-quality build makes it almost durable in the face of a variety of impacts and misuse. This is, without a doubt, one of the best magazines available, and it comes at a reasonable price.

The PT-111 Millennium Pro G2 Magazine is a new factory Taurus magazine. It is as reliable as the one that came with your weapon. The high-tensile wire spring and polymer follower in this magazine feed flawlessly. The magazine is built of blued steel with a black polymer base plate and finger rest to fit the frame of the Taurus.

I like that this magazine will fit with the PT-111, Millennium Pro G2, and G2c. Taurus ensures that it will suit your handgun nicely. This one is also chambered in 9mm Luger and holds 12 rounds. It’s a good idea to keep a few extras of these mags on hand in case you need to carry more firepower. I bring extra magazines because I want to spend less time reloading at the range. And this Millennium Pro G2 ensures smooth feeding and certainly does that.

Altogether, if you’re happy with a standard 12-round mag, the PT-111 Pro G2 Magazine is a solid choice. If the yellow follower is fine with you, there’s nothing you can do about it. However, I suggest that another color option should be available. Because the yellow hue can be difficult to see at times. This factory replacement magazine is extremely durable and meets Taurus standards. Plus, it can withstand wear and tear so I will continue to recommend it.

Pros
  • Feeds smoothly
  • Durable construction
  • Works with G2c, PT-111, and Millennium Pro G2
  • Inexpensive
Cons
  • The magazine could have a better-colored follower
